We specialize in western style riding, with specific disciplines in barrel racing, pole bending and drill teaming. Although, basic training will de-sensitize your horse to a variety of external distractors whatever style riding you are involved in. We have a well rounded system that will make your horse accepting of all situations and environments. All training will be re-capped to the horse owner so that they may follow the techniques that the horses have learned in their training.
BASIC TRAINING:
We will accept horses that have been green-broke and have had someone on their back. Training will take at least three months to work with the horse consistently and to get the horse working right for the rider. Trainer will work with the horse a minimum of 4 days a week at a minimum of an hour per session. Cirriculum consists of:
40% Ground Work- Working with the horse on leading, tying, standing, moving off of pressure, lounging, loading, picking up their feet, and all other ground manners a horse should have.
30% De-sensitzation to external factors- inanimate objects on the horse (Such as plastic bags or rainslickers), items dragging behind the horse, items being held on top of the horse (i.e. flags), loud noises (i.e. gun being shot off of the back of your horse, cars, four wheelers, dirt bikes etc.), trail riding scenerios (Going under low branches, water, etc.).
30% Riding and Equitation- Working with the horse on common ques from the rider, side-stepping, circles, working off the hind end, lead changes, starting and stopping, etc.
Prices for basic training are as follows:
Home visits- $350/month + .50/mile (Must have appropriate working areas)
On-site training-Pasture Board at the Rocking L Ranch (Includes pasture board, and feeding twice a day - owner provides feed and hay, vet care, hoof care etc.) - $550/month
On-Site training-Stall Board at the Rocking L Ranch (Includes a stall, turn in and out, feeding twice a day - owner provides feed and hay) - $700/month
Rocking L Ranch Boarders- $300/month (All terms and conditions of boarding agreement continue to be the same, unless during the training days you would like for your horse to be fed twice a day on training days)

REMINDER TRAINING:
Reminder training is geared for a solid horse that just needs to be worked with consistently on one or two problem areas. This training can last anywhere from 1 to 3 months depending on the issue. Training with this kind of horse will begin heavy and taper off as the problem dissolves. We will work with the horse for the first two weeks a minimum of 3 days a week at least an hour each day. If the problem consistently improves in the first two weeks, the training will take place two days out of the third week and then one day for re-inforcement in the fourth week. Amount of training is at the disgression of the trainer and may take longer than one month.

Home visits- $250/month + .50/mile (Must have appropriate working areas)

On-Site training-Stall Board at the Rocking L Ranch (Includes a stall, turn in and out, feeding twice a day - owner provides feed and hay) - $600/month

BARREL RACING/WESTERN GAME TRAINING:
We start horses on the barrel pattern, pole pattern and any other western game that you would like the horse to be trained in. Training usually lasts at least 3 months to get a good solid pattern on the horse. Training will take place at least 4 days a week for at least one hour sessions.
